 V měsících únoru a březnu jsme prodělali první výcvikovou bojovou akci za podpory výcvikového systému MILES, která byla rozdělena na dvě fáze. První fáze proběhla na konci měsíce února na zasněžených kopcích u města Nejdek v Karlovarském kraji. Druhá fáze proběhla na konci měsíce března u obce Těškov u Rokycan. Co je to systém MILES:

MILES systém (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) je výcvikový simulátor používaný americkou armádou a dalšími ozbrojenými silami po celém světě. Americká armáda začala používat systém MILES na konci 70. let 20. století. První verze systému byla testována v letech 1978 a 1979 a zaměřovala se na výcvik přímé palby a boje na bojišti bez použití ostré munice. MILES systém využívá laserové paprsky a bezstřelné náboje k simulaci skutečného boje. Každý voják má na sobě malé laserové senzory, které detekují, když je voják osvětlen laserem z palné zbraně. Každý laserový přenašeč je nastaven tak, aby měl stejnou účinnou dosahovou vzdálenost jako reálná zbraň při použití ostré munice, kterou tento systém simuluje bez použití ostré munice. Tento systém je využíván různými armádami NATO.

What is the MILES system: 

The MILES system (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) is a training simulator used by the U.S. military and other armed forces around the world. The U.S. military began using the MILES system at the end of the 1970s. The first version of the system was tested during 1978 and 1979 and focused on training for direct fire and battlefield combat without the use of live ammunition. The MILES system uses laser beams and blank cartridges to simulate real combat. Each soldier wears small laser sensors that detect when they are hit by a laser beam from a firearm. Each laser transmitter is calibrated to have the same effective range as a real weapon firing live ammunition, simulating its functionality without the need for live rounds. This system is utilized by various NATO armies.
